Teaching and Mentoring

Research Mentoring in Offshore Wind and Marine Energy

Undergraduate and Graduate Research Mentoring, University of Michigan, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, 2026

I mentor graduate students conducting research on offshore wind platforms and have advised four undergraduate researchers through the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP). Projects have engaged students in offshore wind development, environmental impacts, and wind-turbine power systems.

Graduate Guest Lectures in Experimental Fluid Dynamics and Ice-Wave Modeling

Guest Lectures, University of Michigan, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, 2025

Designed and delivered graduate-level guest lectures on experimental fluid dynamics and ice-wave modeling. These lectures connect fundamental fluid mechanics with contemporary modeling challenges in offshore engineering and renewable energy.

Experimental Research Mentoring in Fluid-Structure Interaction

Graduate and Undergraduate Research Mentoring, Virginia Tech, Aerospace and Ocean Engineering, 2022

Mentored two graduate students in water-entry, PIV, and oscillatory-heave experiments, and mentored five undergraduate students in water-entry research. I guided students through experimental design, data acquisition, image processing, and interpretation of hydrodynamic and structural-response data.

Pre-College Engineering Outreach and Course Development

STEM Outreach, Virginia Tech Imagination Summer Camp, 2021

Designed course materials and hands-on experiments for middle-school students through Virginia Tech Imagination Summer Camps in 2021 and 2022. I also contributed demonstrations for the 2021 summer program while a graduate researcher.
