Experimental Fluid-Structure Interaction of Compliant Marine Structures

My experimental research examined hydrodynamic loading and structural response during water entry and oscillatory motion of compliant structures. I designed and assembled experiments that integrated high-speed imaging, Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), Stereoscopic Digital Image Correlation (S-DIC), image processing, and towing-tank testing.

Coupled Wave-Ice Modeling for Offshore Structures

I model coupled wave-ice interactions in the Laurentian Great Lakes using fully coupled FVCOM, CICE, and SWAN systems. The work investigates how evolving ice conditions modify wave fields and environmental loads relevant to fixed and floating offshore structures.

Floating Offshore Renewable Energy Systems

This project evaluates aero-hydrodynamic loading and structural response of floating offshore wind platforms under coupled environmental loads. My work connects marine dynamics, structural response, and design considerations for offshore renewable-energy systems.

Ice Risk Assessment for Great Lakes Offshore Wind

I develop modeling frameworks that translate long-term ice conditions into engineering design information for offshore wind platforms in the Great Lakes. This work integrates historical and simulated environmental data with ice-load assessment to support resilient offshore renewable-energy development in cold-climate regions.
